Thanksgiving Decoration Ideas For Your Stairs

Thanksgiving Decoration Ideas For Your StairsThanksgiving can sometimes be an overlooked holiday, but it can be just as ornamental as any other festivity or special day!

Staircases are obviously built to be functional for getting from one floor to another in your home or business, but they are also a great place to add a decorative touch. Especially when you have a beautiful custom-made staircase from Acadia Stairs.

Here are some of our favorite ways to dress up your staircase for Thanksgiving:

Pumpkins & Gourds

Nature can give many gifts, one great gift is the fruit.
One thing you can look to do to is carve out your pumpkins, like Halloween, and make them more Thanksgiving festive for candle use and put one on each stair. This can be done relatively easy and isn’t an expensive process.

Or instead of carving the pumpkins or gourds, get a message across to your family and guests. Find eight equal or similar pumpkins or gourds. You can paint the pumpkins or gourds a solid color; put a letter on each to spell the word “THANKFUL.” This is a neat idea and might remind everyone want to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. You can lay each lettered pumpkin on the staircase; this all helps of course if you have at least eight treads so you don’t run out of room to spell the word, so use a larger staircase.Thanksgiving Decoration Ideas For Your Stairs

This last idea can be more business geared as well, if you want to say something instead of “Thankful” and put your companies name or keywords. Really both of these options with the pumpkins or gourds can be clever, creative and unique to your situation.

Twigs or Wheat

A simple and natural looking idea is to take a bundle of sticks or wheat and attaching them to each of your staircase’s balusters. Wrap the bundles with festive ribbons and fluff out the twigs or wheat and make it seem more organic.

Fall Leaves and Raffia

If you have the materials and can find some strong fall leaves, you can string together a nice addition for your railings. Wrap a garland around the railing. Then you can attach some raffia and fall leaves trimmings to the garland as it flows up the stairs. It almost combines the Christmas and Thanksgiving theme, but keeps the autumn feel. The more colorful the fall leaves, the more festive it looks.

Ornaments

If you have some knick-knacks or Thanksgiving ornaments that you feel like you could add more flair to the stairs, feel free to add them as well. Perhaps a felt turkey to hang from the railing or a fall basket at the bottom of the landing, this is where you can let the creative juices flow. If you have extra ornaments from your centerpiece, this is where the staircase can come in handy as a place to adorn it.
